Rhinoplasty, or nose surgery, is an operation that consists in surgically modifying the look or structure of a patient’s nose. The procedure can be performed for cosmetic or reconstructive purposes, or to address a patient’s breathing problem.

Reduced Complications From Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty can change the appearance of a person’s nose in many different ways: size, nostrils, symmetry, humps and more can be altered with this procedure. General requirements to undergo rhinoplasty are a good general health, a fully developed face (an age limit also applies for non adults), and precise and reasonable expectations. As it is the case for many surgical procedures, being a non-smoker is always preferable.

Side Effects and Recovery

Recovery takes a few weeks and swelling, bruising and pain will likely occur during that time. Medication can be prescribed to mitigate the inconvenience of these side effects. Risks are to be taken into account and will be detailed to you during the preliminary assessment with Dr. Golger. In the days and weeks after the surgery, certain symptoms may appear that could indicate complications, so a patient should be aware of what to expect and not hesitate to contact Dr. Golger again if any unusual symptom occurs.
